![]() About
80% of jobs are from relationships and referrals and according to successful businessman Jim Rohn, "You're the average of the five people you spend most of your time with". Austin Entertainment Business (AEB) support group helps entertainment professionals network with success to get to that dream job and/or build that dream team. AEB works to inspire our industry to form relationships and offer help and/or receive help from each other so we can all move projects forward with vetted teams. You can't just jump into a marriage. You've got to date first! Employers need great people and employees need great work environments. When this happens we all make more money and enjoy success. AEB also emphasizes the business of creative. Every production is like starting a small to large business and needs to have many of the same components considered (insurance, vendors, crew, creative, marketing, distribution.... ). When this is done successfully it creates a win win for everyone and will allow us all to stay weird while working in Austin instead of being shipped out to Atlanta, Los Angeles, NY, etc. My Date with film: When I wanted to start producing films, even thought I'd produced over 200 episodes of television, the doors did not fly open welcoming me into the film world. That's a really cool thing. It's nice to hear specifically what people are looking for at that moment."- Lee Rothenflue- Post Editor & Supervisor "I enjoyed the networking and there were a strong group of serious professionals in attendance. This is definitely the best networking group I've ever been to!" - Producer Stan Wong - Infinite Fountain Productions. "The self-introductions were a nice way to break the ice and provide an idea of who was at the event so I could make sure to talk to them. It also made it easier for those who hadn't introduced themselves to talk to me since they already knew a little about me." - Geoffrey Marschall- Director of Photography Thank you Speakeasy for sponsoring the location! |
